 Objective: I-Can…write TYPE 1 papers correctly and create Vocabulary Maps for Key Content Terms

Key Content Terms: Pericles, Parthenon, Acropolis, Myth, Drama, Socrates, Panathenaic Games

Essential Question: What were the major cultural achievements of Athens?

Activities:

1. Warm-Up:  Watch Ancient Greek Video and write down 4 details using TYPE 1 writing format
2. Assessing Prior Knowledge: Chapter 29 Preview
3. Whole Group:
   1. Review Chapter 29: The Golden Age of Athens Preview
4. Independent Practice:
   1. Chapter 29: The Golden Age of Athens ISN
5. Assessment (Formal Assessment= FA and Informal Assessment= IA):      
   • IA: Checking TYPE 1 writings for 4 details and answer to TYPE 1 questions
